What kind of services do you offer?
I mainly offer web design / development services. However, I have over 13 years of experience as a graphic designer and can take care of all your graphic design needs as well.
What is your hourly rate?
My standard hourly rate is $75/hr. However, most projects are not quoted hourly. I offer a few standard website design packages as well as custom quotes for larger, more detailed projects. I also offer a price list for logo design and corporate identity packages.
What is the advantage of hiring a freelancer?
When you hire me to create your website or design your marketing materials, you are getting the best of both worlds. Agencies charge a higher rate because they have more over-head. With over a decade of experience, I have the expertise of an agency but since I work for myself, I can give you a more personalized experience and offer a lower, more competitive rate.
How long does it take to build a website?
The process for building a website can take anywhere from 4 – 8 weeks or longer depending on how organized your content is and whether or not you have a clear vision of the end result. In an effort to make things as easy as possible for everyone, my project Proposal/Contract is set up to help you understand what is expected of you and what you can expect from me during the entire project. I also ask my clients to fill out a Client Questionnaire that focuses on Design Discovery, Objectives, Target Audience and the Sitemap.
What type of payment options do you offer?
I offer 2 types of payment options.
- Cash/Check/Money Orders
- Credit Card (3.5% processing fee + 15¢ per transaction)
What are your payment terms?
I offer 3 different types of payment terms.
- If total estimated cost is $600.00 or less, payment in full is due prior to project start.
- If total estimated cost is more than $600.00, an initial deposit of 1/2 of total amount is due prior to project start. Remaining 1/2 of total amount is due at project completion*. The initial deposit amount should include hosting fees (monthly amount or yearly amount depending on your preferred payment plan), all set-up fees and the first month of any applicable monthly fees.
- For projects costing over $1,500.00, I offer a monthly payment plan. $300 is due at the start of the project and a payment of $300 is due each month until the balance has been paid in full. This option is only offered to clients who have purchased my hosting services.
*Final amount is due immediately upon receipt of final invoice. Final files will not be made live, transferred to client, burned to CD or supplied to client in any format until the final deposit is received. I reserve the right to postpone transfer of ownership of files to client until all payment terms have been fulfilled.
Do you require a contract?
I do require a signed contract. It outlines the project process, deliverables, payment terms and pricing.
What if I want to cancel my contract?
I have a no-refund policy once the first deposit is received. If a job is cancelled, the initial deposit will not be refunded. However, I will not expect to receive the final deposit. All files will be saved and available when or if you decide to resume the project at a later date. All client files are archived every six months so a set-up fee of $50 will be charged for projects that are placed on hold for longer than 6 months.
